UX Design Study of Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Tasks: User Journey, Paper Prototype, Flow Chart, Wireframe, Usability Tests & UI Mockups
Tools Used: Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, Nintendo Switch (to capture images)
Project Length: 7 Weeks
This study was done as part of ELVTR's UX/UI in Gaming course with Ivy Sang. For this study I wanted to focus more on understanding the UX design process and implementing ideas into an existing UI style, rather than building one from the ground up.
Challenges
• Understand the game from the user's point of view
• Identify potential gaps or problems in the game flow
• Conduct user testing to further observe said gaps
• Develop solutions to potentially reduce found issues
• Maintain the UI style when implementing solutions

• Practiced how to identify and display UX information in digestible formats
• Got experience creating and performing extensive User Tests
• Created UI Mockups with new elements that were in-line with an existing UI Style
